Keith reed - founder and Executive Director

Affectionately known as "Coach", Keith Reed is the tireless dedicated man who has been reaching and teaching Tulsa youth for nearly 20 years. To know him is to love him!

“Some of these kids have been deprived of a childhood. When they come here, I’m Pops and they are my kids. The first thing we work on is manners. When a person has good manners, that can lead to a good job. Before you can go anywhere in life you need a foundation, and we teach them that. If we keep them busy, they won’t be getting in trouble. We want to keep them out of trouble.”

Dave is particularly driven to assist Coach Reed in helping in the North Tulsa community.  After being out of the city for his career, he was shocked a few years ago to learn about the 1921 Race Massacre, which wasn’t mentioned in the Tulsa public schools when he was growing up.

He’s an over-the-hill boxer who has fun letting the little kids beat up on him in the ring.

“While I enjoy the Board duties of such an effective charity, the most rewarding activity is helping the founder, Coach Keith Reed, and his staff in working with the children and youth who attend the after school and summer programs. My presence adds to Coach's objective of providing positive male role models for children who often lack them at home and in their neighborhoods.”

"I started taking my sons to Coach Reed when they were 6 years old, for the workouts but also for the experience of diversity and bridging cultures. When I saw the work Coach was doing and saw the incredible impact he was having on the community, I couldn't help but get involved!"

Doug Custer - Director

Doug is an IT Project Manager at Cimarex Energy Co in Tulsa. Doug has been with Cimarex since 2007 where he started as a senior programmer analyst. In addition to helping Coach Reed, by connecting with the kids of the Reed Community Foundation and trying to be a positive mentor/role model, Doug also is very active in a large local church where he spends a lot of time leading men’s small groups and serving in the live video production area.

“I first became aware of RCF when our church did a local outreach for them. I was immediately drawn by the heart of Coach Reed who is just trying to help kids get pointed in the right direction in life. With honesty, discipline, and love that I see Coach provide these young people… I wanted to be involved and help these kids stay the course and experience success in their life.”
